About software: The astrolib library calculates planetary positions and timezones.
Positions of sun, planet and planets up to Pluto are calculated with an preciseness of the arrangement of individual curve small for dates smaller than a century distant from now. Calculations are based on approximation formulae by Paul Schlyter, which are in revolution based on a preprint of a thin by T. van Flandern and K. Pulkkinen "Short accuracy formulae for planetary positions", Astrophysical Chronicle Addition Order, 1980.
Facts is retrieved about locations and period zones on world, based on UNIX period district information. The information contains facts for accomplished 350 locations planet-expansive and is flat valuable for dates centuries before UNIX machines existed. The alike facts is provided for about 2000 extra locations which have been assigned to UNIX period district locations.
Currently, astrolib is implemented as a shared library for Palm OS 2.0 or after. It requires the MathLib library. Because the period district information has been compressed quite a piece and the calculations do not require any outside ephemeris information files, the library is singular about 100K.
The astrolib beginning language is distributed under the GNU Secondary Common Community Authority. As I understand the authority, this method essentially that you container application astrolib from business and non-business software, but that you cannot make a business result gone of a modified account of astrolib. Redistribution under the GNU LGPL is, of progress, likely.
